Grinding Gear Games has announced that the Path of Exile: Keepers of the Flame Expansion is launching on October 31.

This expansion marks the first-ever sequel to a league, breathing new life into the iconic Breach content with fresh mechanics, terrifying bosses, and powerful customization systems.

Ailith and the Breachlords

Players will meet Ailith, founder of the Keepers of the Flame, a secretive monastic order tasked with defending Wraeclast from the Breachlords’ twisted realm. As the boundaries between dimensions collapse, Exiles must protect Ailith as she channels the Flame to purge the land of Breach infestations.

Path of Exile players can expect to encounter Unstable Breaches, massive breach hands, and the fearsome Vruun, Marshal of Xesht, whose defeat seals off the Breach permanently. Endgame areas have also been transformed into Breach Hives, teeming with horrors waiting to be hunted.

Grow the Genesis Tree and Unlock Flesh-Sewn Power

At the Monastery, players will discover the Genesis Tree, an unholy engine of creation that rewards those who nurture it. Through Breach encounters, the tree sprouts limbs that yield:

• Currency and Uniques
• Equipment and Grafts

In this Path of Exile expansion, Grafts are living augmentations embedded directly into the flesh, granting new skills and defenses. Examples include:

• Battering Uulgraft: Summons massive arms from the earth
• Squalling Tulgraft: Creates an ice tornado that tracks enemies and ricochets projectiles

As the Genesis Tree matures, it produces Foulborn currency to further mutate Grafts into grotesque, potent forms.

New Skills, Bloodline Ascendancies, and Uber Bosses

Path of Exile: Keepers of the Flame introduces new Skill and Support Gems:

• Kinetic Rain: A wand attack that blankets the ground in unstable energy
• Living Lightning Support: Summons elemental sparks that blitz through enemies

Players can also unlock Bloodline Ascendancy Classes by defeating endgame bosses. These allow Exiles to absorb the essence of slain foes and allocate points between their original Ascendancy and Bloodline Class. Ten unique Bloodline Classes await, each tied to past league bosses.

Endgame content expands with three new Uber Incarnation boss fights. Access requires fragments dropped by Tier 17 Map Bosses, with powerful rewards for those who survive.

Asynchronous Trade and Quality of Life Upgrades

The long-awaited Asynchronous Trade system arrives, allowing players to list items for sale and enabling instant purchases even while offline. Faustus, formerly of Lioneye’s Watch, now manages Merchant Tabs starting in Act 6.

Additional quality-of-life improvements include:

• Instant refunds for Passive Skill Trees using Gold
• Heist Rogues start at max level
• Quick Augmentation Orb swaps during crafting

Challenge League, Supporter Packs, and More

The Keepers Challenge League features 40 new challenges. Completing them unlocks the Keeper of the Flame Armour Set, with pieces earned after every 12 milestones.

Celebrate the expansion with two new Supporter Packs:

• Champion of Theopolis
• Verdant Magus

Each pack is available in three tiers with exclusive cosmetics.
