Bungie has announced that Marathon, its upcoming survival extraction FPS, will host a Server Slam event from February 26 to March 2, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.

This open preview weekend invites players worldwide to dive into the lost colony of Tau Ceti IV, stress test servers, and earn exclusive rewards ahead of the game’s official launch on March 5, 2026.

Survive the Lost Colony

Set in the haunting ruins of Tau Ceti IV, Marathon casts players as bio-cybernetic Runners scavenging for secrets and survival. The Server Slam introduces two playable zones—Perimeter and Dire Marsh—alongside opening contracts from five factions. Players can experiment with all six Runner Shells, plus Rook in scavenger mode, while navigating hostile forces, rival Runners, and unpredictable environments.

Marathon – Rewards for Participation

Joining the Server Slam grants players commemorative rewards, including:

• A special emblem and player banner.
• A tiered gear package with weapons, implants, and more for launch.

PlayStation Plus members will also unlock exclusive weapon charms inspired by Helldivers 2, Death Stranding 2, and Ghost of Yōtei.

Looking Ahead to Season 1

At launch and beyond, Marathon will expand with additional zones like Outpost Cryo Archive, full faction progression trees, ranked mode, and more. Bungie promises a deep progression system and evolving challenges as players uncover the mysteries of the derelict Marathon ship orbiting Tau Ceti IV.
