KADOKAWA Game Linkage and ABC Animation have officially released SHINONOME ABYSS: The Maiden Exorcist on Steam and Nintendo Switch. The game, priced at $14.99 USD, is available digitally with a 10% launch discount until April 8, 2026.

Players take on the role of Yono, a Maiden Exorcist searching for her missing brother, as she ventures into haunted mansions filled with mononoke (ghosts). The game emphasizes sound-based strategy, allowing players to identify enemies by listening, lure them into traps, or even exploit their unique traits for survival.

Three Distinct Modes

The game offers three modes across 53 mansions:

  • HARAE (Story Mode): Fixed dungeon layouts with puzzle-solving elements.
  • MISOGI (Roguelike Mode): Randomly generated dungeons for quick, replayable runs.
  • GYOU (Hardcore Survival Mode): Infinite high-difficulty towers with online rankings for competitive players.

Unique Gameplay Features

  • Strategic combat: Use traps like Hearths, Punji Pits, and Raijin Talismans to defeat mononoke.
  • Dynamic encounters: Some mononoke may attempt to communicate instead of attacking.
  • Transformation mechanic: Yono can awaken her “Four Eyes” form, boosting her combat abilities.
