Starfield Launches on PS5 This April Alongside Terran Armada DLC and Free Lanes Update

Bethesda Game Studios has announced that Starfield will officially launch on PS5 on April 7, 2026.

The PS5 version takes advantage of the console’s hardware features, including adaptive triggers, touchpad integration, and lightbar support. On PS5 Pro, players can choose between Pro Performance Mode for higher FPS or Pro Visual Mode for enhanced graphics.

Starfield PS5 Editions

The Starfield PS5 Standard Edition will retail for $49.99, while the PS5 Premium Edition will retail for $69.99 and will include the following:

Starfield Terran Armada Story DLC

Launching alongside the PS5 release is Terran Armada, a major story expansion that introduces:

  • A new questline across the Settled Systems
  • Fresh characters, enemies, and locations
  • Robotic forces threatening humanity’s future
  • Unique rewards tied to the new storyline

Premium Edition owners on Xbox and Steam will receive Terran Armada at no additional cost.

Starfield Free Lanes Update

The Free Lanes update, representing the biggest free expansion since launch, arrives on all platforms for all players on the same day, adding significant new systems and features:

  • New locations – A number of new Encounters, POIs, Dungeons, notable increase in variety for players to discover
  • X-Tech – A new resource used to upgrade weapons, ship modules, and more
  • Enemy modifiers – New enemy tiers with performance modifiers, such as extra shielding, more frequent attacks, or elemental damage
  • Moon Jumper – New land vehicle
  • Outpost improvements – Cross-outpost storage & Milliewhale pet
  • New crew – Muria and the mini-bot
  • Starborn Improvement – Ability to bring a limited number of items through the Unity to a NG+

Trackers Alliance Expansion

Bethesda also confirmed five new Trackers Alliance bounty hunter adventures, expanding contracts, targets, and rewards. Players who purchased the original content will receive these new missions for free, while new players can access the full set for 700 Creations Credits.
