Limited Run Games, in collaboration with Konami and Marvel Games, has confirmed a March 27 release date for the Marvel MaXimum Collection. This comprehensive anthology brings together a curated selection of Marvel’s early gaming legacy, spanning arcade, 8-bit, and 16-bit eras.

The collection is set to arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch. Physical pre-orders at the Limited Run Games website are now available and will retail for $39.99.

Marvel MaXimum Collection Includes Iconic Titles and Multi-Platform Variants

Rather than offering a single version of each game, the Marvel MaXimum Collection includes multiple iterations across different consoles and handhelds, totaling 13 unique titles. The confirmed lineup includes:

  • X-Men: The Arcade Game: Featuring 6-player online multiplayer and rollback netcode.
  • Captain America and The Avengers: Includes the arcade original, Sega Genesis, and NES versions.
  • Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage & Separation Anxiety: Both the SNES and Genesis versions are included.
  • Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge: Spanning SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, and Game Gear iterations.
  • Silver Surfer: The infamously difficult NES side-scrolling shooter.

Modern Features for the Modern “True Believer”

To ensure these classics remain accessible to a contemporary audience, the collection introduces several “MaXimum Features.” Players can now utilize Save States and Rewind functionality alongside integrated cheat menus for infinite lives.

The package also serves as a digital archive, containing high-resolution scans of original box art, instruction manuals, and vintage advertisements. A dedicated music player allows fans to listen to the iconic chip-tune scores, supplemented by new music from legendary composer Chris Huelsbeck.
