Blizzard has announced that Overwatch Rush will enter soft launch on August 31, 2026, beginning in Indonesia before expanding to Malaysia and the Philippines. This milestone brings an evolved experience with new features, gameplay improvements, and expanded content.
Previously, a regional test was held in the Philippines to gather feedback and insights, allowing refinement of systems ahead of a wider testing window.

New Progression System – Hero Levels
Players can now shape their roster with the Hero Level system, earning progression currencies through gameplay and spending them to upgrade chosen Heroes. This system allows for deeper customization and experimentation with loadouts.
New and Reworked Heroes
- NEW – Brigitte: Reimagined for top‑down combat, Brigitte blends frontline toughness with aggressive close‑range play.
- UPDATED – Lúcio: Abilities now closer to his iconic Overwatch identity, offering simultaneous speed and healing boosts.
Other playable Heroes include Tracer, Reinhardt, Soldier: 76, Reaper, Kiriko, Pharah, and Mercy.
