PlayStation 5 focused event reportedly scheduled later this month
Sony could be gearing up for a big month this august. If a report is to be believed, Sony could be hosting two events, which will highlight both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Sony has already announced their first event, scheduled for August 6, which is the State of Play that will focus on PS4 and PS VR third-party titles. Sony has made it clear that no PlayStation Studios titles will make an appearance and no PS5 updates should be expected from the event.
However, a report from Bloomberg hints that Sony is prepping up for another presentation this August, saying that “An official at the PlayStation unit, who asked not to be identified because the plan is not yet public, said Sony’s next announcement regarding the PlayStation 5 is tentatively scheduled for this month.“
The PlayStation 4 focused State of Play comes at a weird time, especially when everyone is widely expecting PlayStation 5 announcements, so this could certainly appease the crowd if it proves to be true.
There’s still so much we don’t know about the next generation console – the User Interface and price and pre-order status among others. At the very least, we do know that some PlayStation 4 accessories will be compatible with the PlayStation 5.
The PlayStation 5 is still currently scheduled to be released during the Holiday of 2020.
