‘Assassin’s Creed Mirage’ Reportedly a Return to Basics, Releasing in Spring 2023
Details of the new Assassin’s Creed game, reportedly named Assassin’s Creed Mirage, have been making the rounds, pointing to a return to form for the franchise.
A YouTube video from j0nathan, who has proven to be quite reliable with AC-related information, has been uploaded and outlined a number of details about the upcoming game. Rebs Gaming compiled all the information, showing a long list such as the setting and strong inspiration from the first game.
As with these leaks, we’ll always have to take things with a grain of salt, but Jason Schreier has corroborated some bits and pieces of the information.
Previously named “Rift”, Schreier hears from his sources that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will indeed be the title, along with reinforcing the fact that it will be released in Spring 2023, set in Baghdad, and star Basim. Schreier further confirms that the title will go back to the “AC Basics,” meaning a departure from the more RPG-oriented formula that started in Origins.
Additionally, Schreier does refute some parts of the video, particularly pertaining to the part that says there will be multiple cities to explore.
Many fans of the series have been calling for a return to form, wanting to bring back the stealth-based gameplay that made it famous in the first place. It seems, based on this information, they’ve gotten their wish answered.
No confirmation has been made by Ubisoft about the new game, so we’ll have to wait for the company to make an official reveal.
