Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time officially announced, gameplay details revealed
After the events over the weekend and with Activision literally acknowledging the leaks, the cat (or bandicoot) is finally out of the bag as Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has officially been announced during Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest.
Check out the announcement trailer below:
Nearly 22 years after the 3rd ‘numbered’ game in the series (Warped being the third), it is literally about time that our favorite marsupial makes a return and we will be seeing new powers, new playable characters (like Cortex!), but with the gameplay that we’ve come to know and love from Crash Bandicoot.
According to the PlayStation Blog, we can expect to see larger levels and a graphical overhaul unlike which we’ve seen from previous games. Crash 4 will be more vibrant and colorful, and Crash will feature “a whole new set of platforming tricks like wall running, rail grinding, and rope swinging to help you visit every nook, cranny, and secret spot.”
Also new to the game are the introduction of masks, which “give our heroes the power to bend the rules of reality and conquer dangerous obstacles in exciting new ways... Kupuna-Wa (the Time Mask), who slows down time to allow for even more precise movements. The other mask featured in the launch trailer – Ika Ika (the Gravity Mask) – will let Crash and Coco platform upside down despite the regular laws of physics!”
