Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake officially announced, will release January 2021
Staying true to the supposed leaks, the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake has finally been announced by Ubisoft during their recent Ubisoft Forward presentation.
The remake, set to launch on January 21, 2021 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC will feature the same set of characters and story but with a visual upgrade, which you can see in the trailer below.
An overview of the game reads as follows:
Embark on a journey as the Prince to prevent the powerful Sands of Time from falling into the hands of the treacherous Vizier. Master the Sands of Time and use your dagger to control time itself. Fight cursed enemies and solve puzzles along the way.
Developed by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is Ubisoft’s first ever full-scale remake, with a fresh approach to combat, puzzle solving and rewinding time. The new design, made with updated technology for today’s gaming systems, include new camera angles and fully remade sequences.
More than the remake, the game will bring back Yuri Lowenthal, the original voice actor for the Prince in the original game, who will reprise his role in this upcoming title. Even more surprises await players, including even the 1992 original Mac version.
Pre-orders of the game will give players a couple of nice bonuses called the “Back to the Origins” set:
- The Original Prince outfit from the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
- The Prince’s Original Weapons set
- A Classic Filter that changes the look and feel of the game on the screen
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a remake of the original 2003 critically acclaimed classic and is scheduled to release on January 21 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and will retail for $39.99 or around PHP2,000.
