Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart confirmed to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, not releasing on PS4
Remember all that talk about believing in generations? Seemed like so long ago and well, it didn’t really age that well. Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Horizon Forbidden West, first thought to be PS5 exclusives, are also coming to the PS4, but Insomniac has cleared the air around Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and have said that it will indeed be a PS5 exclusive.
Based on how the game was designed, it was mentioned before that Rift Apart would actually not be able to run the way it was meant to on the PS4, and while technically it can be played on the PS4 with watered down visuals and tons of loading screens, the full effect of the game can only be realized on next-gen hardware.
You can take a look at the game in an extended gameplay demo that was featured a couple of months ago, where you’ll see the dynamic duo jump from dimension to dimension with very little to no loading time at all.
At the moment, no release date has been scheduled for the game yet, so we’ll have to wait for further news on this, but expect Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart to be a definite app that will showcase the muscle of the PS5.
