The recently concluded State of Play livestream reveals something interesting from brawler Sifu that we haven’t seen in many of its trailers: The Aging Mechanic. From what is shown in the trailer, it jumps two years, three years, four years, and exponentially increases depending from the damage you take or everytime you are defeated, it looks like. We’d love to see how this aging mechanic works specifically as the game progresses.

Check out the new trailer below:

Absolver wants the game to be a learning experience for players, much like how Martial Arts teaches perseverance, saying “Players can make mistakes, try again, and learn in the process. We want to make that experience smooth and fluid: players will be able to restart instantly where they died and keep going forward like an unstoppable force of revenge. You cannot age eternally, however; eventually you will become too old and have to start your path again.”

Initially slated for a 2021 release, Sifu will now launch in early 2022 for the PS4, PS5, and PC.
