One of the most anticipated games of 2020 is releasing in a couple of weeks but it has not been a smooth ride for anyone and everyone affected by the current COVID-19 outbreak, disrupting businesses and operations almost globally.

In an announcement made through the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Facebook Page, Yoshinori Kitase and Tetsuya Nomura themselves wanted to clear the air behind the unusual circumstances we are facing currently and reiterate their priority to get the game to as many players as possible come April 10.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Kitase-san and Nomura-san have decided to “ship the game far earlier than usual to Europe and Austraila”, with the western regions including America shipping out within this week. As with our current situation, of course some retailers may receive their copies earlier than others.

As a result, Kitase-san and Nomura-san are also pleading to the community to not spoil it for the others. A lot of hardwork and dedication has been put into this project and they would love for it that everyone enjoy it with the same excitement and anticipation.

As for local (Philippine) copies, expect a full delay of the physical release due to the retail stores closing down for the time being. We’ll be waiting for retailers like Datablitz and Game One PH to make official announcements soon.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is scheduled to release globally on April 10, 2020.
