Ubisoft adding cross-play and cross-saves to their games starting with Watch Dogs: Legion

Ubisoft Club and Uplay will soon be snapped out of existence but will take the form of Ubisoft Connect, the new all in one hub that will allow for easier access to Ubisoft services. More importantly, it will also allow for cross-play and cross-saves across platforms.

The company made the announcement through various social media channels and via an FAQ, describing Connect as “ecosystem of players services for all Ubisoft games across all platforms. It is the unification and improvement of Ubisoft Club, our loyalty program, and Uplay, our Desktop App, across all platforms.”

Connect will officially launch on October 29 alongside Watch Dogs Legion and will be implementing a simple system where each player will have a Connect account that has levels, and the more you play supported titles and complete challenges, you’ll earn XP and gain access to rewards.

Sounds pretty simple and easy, and although similar to how it was previously, the one big thing about Connect is how it is pushing cross-play and cross-saves between platforms, allowing players to play and pick up where they left off regardless of the platform they play on. There will be certain titles that will take advantage of this feature for now but expect the new titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Immortals Fenyx Rising to be part of the list, among others.

Best thing about it? It’s free, and all you will have to do is sign up for a Connect account, if you haven’t already from Club or Uplay.
