Xbox Game Pass Core Announced, Launching in September
Microsoft has announced that Xbox Live Gold is no more and will be replaced Xbox Game Pass Core when it launches on September 14, 2023.
Xbox Game Pass Core is touted as an “evolution” of Live Gold and will give players a base subscription that will cost $9.99 a month/$59.99 a year, and will include online multiplayer capabilities, a curated selection of over 25 games that will get new games two to three times a year, and deals and discounts.
Interestingly, while Core will have online console multiplayer, the standard console Game Pass tier won’t, and subscribers will have to upgrade to Ultimate to gain access to online multiplayer.
Here are the launch titles that will be included in the Xbox Game Pass Core subscription tier, with more to be announced ahead of its September 14 launch (game titles may vary over time per country):
- Among Us
- Descenders
- Dishonored 2
- Doom Eternal
- Fable Anniversary
- Fallout 4
- Fallout 76
- Forza Horizon 4
- Gears 5
- Grounded
- Halo 5: Guardians
- Halo Wars 2
- Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
- Human Fall Flat
- Inside
- Ori & The Will of the Wisps
- Psychonauts 2

Live Gold subscribers will automatically shift to Xbox Game Pass Core on September 14 and will have access to the full list of titles that will be announced by then. Games with Gold will be ending its offerings on September 1.
