Ubisoft Collector’s Editions will offer Digital redeem codes instead of Physical discs for Xbox
Ubisoft has recently announced that users who have pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Far Cry 6, and Watch Dogs: Legion will be receiving digital keys instead of Physical Discs, at least for Xbox users.
This is quite odd and unexpected, to say the least. Collectors will certainly be bummed out to know about this development, especially since the appeal of the Collector’s Editions are with the physical items in the package, game disc included. Also of note that this announcement was from the UK version of the site, so it is quite unclear if other regions will be affected by this change, the Philippines included.
The Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla Collector’s Edition will include the base game, the Season Pass, the Ultimate Pack, the high-end Ubicollectibles replica of Eivor and her Drakkar (height: 30cm), a Collector’s Case, a Steelbook with a unique artwork, a numbered certificate of authenticity, a Viking Statuette of Eivor with his raven and Dane axe (height: 5cm), exclusive lithographs as well as a Selected Soundtrack of the game.
Ubisoft also unveiled the Far Cry 6 Collector’s Edition, which sports the “Tostador”, a 72cm replica flamethrower, among other collectibles like a “How to Assemble” one-pager artwork illustrated by famous artist Tobatron, a unique Collector’s Case based on Tobatron’s iconic art style, an exclusive Steelbook, a 64-page Artbook, a set of 10 stickers, a Chorizo keyring, a map and a selected Soundtrack of the Game.
The Watch Dogs Legion Collector’s Edition will contain the Ultimate edition of the game, a set of 3 stickers, a double sided propaganda poster, an exclusive steelbook, and an LED light up DED Coronet Mask.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is set to release on November 17, Watch Dogs: Legion is set to release on October 29, and Far Cry 6 is set to release on February 18 next year.
