NieR: Automata and Persona Rumors Heat up Ahead of Nintendo Direct Mini
Later today, a Nintendo Direct Mini will be happening that will focus on upcoming third-party games coming to the system. Alongside the event, rumors have begun sprouting up, predicting the titles that will be announced during the show.
In particular, NieR: Automata and Persona have been the subject of these rumors, and while nothing has been officially confirmed, it is worthwhile to mention that the rumor comes from Spanish Journalist Nacho Raquena, who correctly predicted the date and focus of this particular Nintendo Direct.
During his Twitch Stream, Raquena also mentioned the possibility of a Persona game being present in the Direct. “I’ve also been told that some Persona game will be present, though I don’t know which game,” Raquena says, as translated by VGC.
It’s not hard to think that the Persona game in question would be one of the following games recently announced for the PS5, Xbox, and PC, which is the Persona Series Masterpiece. In particular, Persona 5 Royal will be coming in October, so that would be a likely suspect.
Another title that’s rumored to be part of the Direct is NieR: Automata, as hinted by Raquena as well. “I’ve also been told there will be another game that has been available for some time on other platforms… it’s been available for four years now,” Raquena says.
While there was no mention of NieR: Automata, Raquena posted a GIF file of Yoko Taro, which might be a hint of what the game is, which lines up with the initial statement about a game that’s been available for quite a while now, sounding exactly like NieR: Automata.
Whatever the case may be, we won’t have to wait long as the Nintendo Direct Mini is set to air later today.
