‘World of Warcraft’ Wrath of the Lich King Classic Goes Live on September 27
Blizzard Entertainment has announced that World of Warcraft’s acclaimed second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King Classic, will go live on September 27.
The expansion will be free to all players with an active subscription and will give players the chance to go against Lich King Arthas Menethil’s undead army, along with experiencing some of the most breath-taking vistas and beloved storylines in all of Warcraft.’
Wrath of the Lich King Classic will also introduce the Death Knight hero class, which will be available to all players and will start at level 55. Also featured is the original iteration of the World of Warcraft achievement system, celebrating a wide range of player accomplishments in the game, and the introduction of the Inscription profession, which enables players to scribe ability-enhancing glyphs that alter the appearance and modify the properties of spells and abilities.
13 dungeons such as Ahn’Kahet: The Old Kingdom and the plague-infested Culling of Stratholme will also be made available. For the ultimate challenge 9 raids will be added, such as the updated versions of Naxxramas and Onyxia’s Lair from pre-expansion World of Warcraft, and of course Icecrown Citadel, where the story of the Lich Kingreaches its cinematic conclusion.
In the coming weeks, players can experience Joyous Journeys, a 50%-bonus-XP event that will run until Wrath of the Lich King Classic’s September 27 launch.
