Assassin’s Creed Mirage Takes Players to 9th Century Baghdad, Coming in 2023
Following an initial announcement, Ubisoft has taken the lid off of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the latest installment in the franchise that’s set to release worldwide in 2023 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC via the Epic Games and Ubisoft Store.
Ubisoft Bordeaux, the studio behind the Wrath of the Druids expansion for AC Valhalla, will take the development lead for the game, which takes players back to Baghdad at the peak of its golden age. Going back to the basics, Mirage will feature a narrative-driven action-adventure experience set in a majestic open city with modernized legacy gameplay focusing on parkour, stealth, and assassinations.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will feature Basim Ibn Is’haq, first seen in AC Valhalla, who joins the Hidden Ones in Alamut on a quest for answers. This game is an homage to the series and a particularly special tribute to the first Assassin’s Creed.
“For the 15th anniversary of the franchise we wanted to offer something special to the players and our community,” said Stéphane Boudon, Senior Content Director for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. “Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a tribute to the franchise, and notably to the original game. We are bringing a modern take on the iconic Assassin’s Creed gameplay experience, as well as a deep dive into the rituals and tenets of the Hidden Ones, something we think both longtime and new fans alike will be eager to play”.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is coming in 2023 to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
