CD Projekt RED has officially announced that The Witcher IV is targeting a 2028 release window for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
The Witcher IV Release Window Details
The news was shared by joint CEO Michal Nowakowski ahead of Gamescom 2026, where the studio is showcasing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past expansion.
While The Witcher IV will not be shown at Gamescom this year, Nowakowski emphasized that the project is well underway, with more than 500 developers dedicated to building the next chapter in the franchise.
A New Saga with Ciri
The upcoming title will mark the beginning of a brand new saga, with Ciri taking the lead role. CD Projekt RED promises a vast open world, action‑packed gameplay, and a deep narrative designed to leave a lasting impact on players.
“This is our biggest, boldest, and most ambitious game to date,” Nowakowski said, noting that while fans will need to wait until 2028, the team is committed to delivering a truly special experience.
