During PlayStation’s State of Play presentation, Absolver developers Sloclap released a trailer for their upcoming new game, Sifu, which will make its way to the PS4, PS5, and PC.

Sifu is described as “A third person action game featuring intense hand-to-hand combat, it puts you in control of a young Kung-Fu student on a path of revenge.”

Check out the trailer below:

This one looks really interesting, especially for all fans of classic kung-fu action movies and shows. The premise of a martial arts student on the road of revenge may not be anything new, but the gameplay mechanic of a magical amulet that significantly ages your character every time you die is very intriguing.

From the trailer it already feels like a throwback to classic beat-em-ups. It’s too early to say if Sifu will be anything special, but it’s definitely something that got our attention.

Sifu is being developed by Sloclap Studios and will be released in 2021 for the PC, PlayStation 4 and 5.

When he's not casually preparing a costume for the next convention, researching on the latest anime titles every season, or singing anime/game songs to just let out, Ricki finds his way back to his first and prized hobby: Gaming. Ricki is more of an offline single-player console gamer than online and multiplayer competitor but as long as there's interesting stories, gameplay, and characters (for his cosplay ideas), expect him to be right there in the thick of things.
