2K is switching things up after the disaster that was WWE 2K20 and is serving up an arcade style beating care of their latest offering, WWE 2K Battlegrounds, which is scheduled to launch on September 18 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC (Steam), and Stadia.

You can view the wacky and over the top announce trailer below:

With more than over 70 wrestlers to choose from, players can take part in various game modes such as exhibition, online, king of the battleground, and a brand new campaign mode built exclusively for the game where you fight it out to earn a shot at a WWE contract.

Here is the overview of the game (Via Gematsu):

Eight unique Battlegrounds environments play a major role in the action, many of them featuring interactive elements adding to the mayhem alongside a variety of outrageous melee weapons players can use to pummel opponents. Soar from military helicopters, smash opponents with cars in an auto shop and toss them into the jaws of a hungry alligator in the swamp. Bombastic play-by-play is provided by WWE commentators Mauro Ranallo and Jerry “The King” Lawler to complete the mood.

Players can also customize their own arenas to give each brawl a personal touch and use the Superstar Creator to build their own, unique WWE Superstar with different body types and sizes, facial features, clothing, hair and fighting styles.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds is designed to be easy to pick up and play, but challenging to master, with more advanced techniques to be learned and skills to be unlocked so players of all skill levels can enjoy the action. A roster of today’s biggest WWE Superstars, including Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Asuka, Daniel Bryan, Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton—combined with Legends—including Andre the Giant, Undertaker, Mankind®, Shawn Michaels, Yokozuna, Sgt. Slaughter, and many more, offers fan favorites for all generations of the WWE Universe to enjoy, with more unlockable Superstars to come via free updates in the future. Each Superstar utilizes one of five class styles, and each class style has its own combat moves, strengths and weaknesses. Choose from the Powerhouse, Technician, High-Flyer, Brawler and All-Rounder to find the style that works best for you. Arcade-style powerups, such as Flaming Fist, Ice Breath and Earthquake, are accompanied by colorful visual effects, offering extra excitement and an additional dimension of strategy that can quickly change the direction of a match.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds is scheduled to release on September 18 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC (Steam), and Stadia. In the mean time, check out these screenshots of the game!

The first Marvel’s Avengers War Table has recently concluded and we finally know a ton of details about the game, ranging from the story to gameplay footage that we’ve all been waiting for so long, even the reveal of the first villain!

You can view the whole presentation here:

Story Details

In the aftermath of A-Day, the Avengers have turned San Francisco into a quarantine zone, resulting in a movement to shut them down. Sensing opportunity, AIM, founded by George Tarleton, catches the public attention as they promise to find a cure and use technology to turn the people against the superpowered menace.

Tarleton’s obsession causes him to become a mental organism designed only for killing, better known as M.O.D.O.K. Alongside AIM, they are poised to be the most technologically advanced foe that the Avengers have faced.

You initially take control of Kamala Khan, an Avengers fangirl who has discovered the plot to discredit the Avengers, and will now go on a quest to assemble the team once again.

Gameplay and Customization

The Avengers War Table revealed new gameplay that takes us through a quest entitled “Once an Avenger”, a Hero mission, which is a single player campaign mission that focuses on a particular character. The clip showcases a long running battle atop the Chimera that features Thor thoroughly wrecking every enemy in his path using a variety of moves. Initial impressions on the gameplay seem to be fast-paced and fluid while variety of enemies seem to be a bit limited. Granted, this is pre-alpha footage, so improvements could have been made already.

A combination of attacks can be made through variations of light and heavy button presses, and Thor offers versatility as he can take on enemies in the air at distance using the “Manual Targeting” skill, or on the ground within striking range utilizing the trademark “Hammer Spin”. Stunning an enemy by maxing out their stun meter will allow heroes to perform a team finisher, dealing massive damage.

Each character can also utilize what’s called “Heroic Moves” that can be broken down into Assault, Ultimate, or Support. Black Widow’s Assault is “Widow’s Bite”, which is an electro-shock projectile move. Thor’s Support move is called “Warrior’s Fury”, which grants temporary invincibility to nearby allies. Thor’s Ultimate channels the power of the Bifrost to deal massive damage and clear unbreakable shields. These are just some of the ultimate abilities of the Avengers and utilizing them in synergy with your team will be key to taking on the tougher foes.

Character customization is the main draw of the game, offering options on skills, gear, perks, artifacts, and much more. Gear, for instance, have multiple rarities and each piece will have perks that are randomized to provide another layer of customization. Some perks can cause damage types like plasma or gamma while others can cause status effects.

There are also multiple outfits and emotes that you can equip your heroes with to further personalize your character. You can earn outfits through completing story missions or by purchasing them from the cosmetic vendor named Chastity McBride. These outfits are very recognizable to fans of the Avengers and will be based on various comic books and appearances like the Iron Man’s suit from the 2014 Original Sin storyline or the “Donald Blake” suit for Thor which first appeared in 1962.

Co-op and War Zones

War Zones allow up to 4 players or solo (with AI) and will offer missions that are grounded in the story which will be given by Jarvis, Maria Hill, and others. Matchmaking is available for this mode and will feature a variety of objective based missions and multiple boss fights that will offer great rewards.

Over the course of the game, you will also be rebuilding the Chimera or your helicarrier, which will serve as your base of operations.

Factions are also available in game, which will allow access to specific gear, vendors, and items based on your faction reputation.

A ton of details have been revealed and this is just the first of many War Tables to come from the Crystal Dynamics team. We’ll be hearing more from them in the following weeks and months leading to launch but for now, there’s plenty to digest and take in!

Marvel’s Avengers is scheduled to release on September 4, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.

Samurai Shodown (Samurai Spirits in Japan) is a fighting game series that’s beloved just as much as fighting game giants Street Fighter and Tekken, so its return to the scene with the 2019 reboot was a welcome sight to fans of the series!

SNK has supported the game since its release by bringing back recognizable characters from Samurai Shodown’s wide history in the form of DLC characters. Characters like Shizumaru, brothers Sogetsu and Kazuki, and Iroha. Now, SNK will release a brand new character to the roster, and it’s someone we never saw coming, but somehow fits right in.

Bushido and Chivalry will clash as Samurai Shodown’s newest fighter is none other than the Warden from Ubisoft’s For Honor. Looks like Charlotte and Galford won’t be the only fighters of Western lineage now!

The Warden from For Honor really looks right at home with the crew of SamSho. Sporting his iconic armor and two-handed Longsword, the Warden from the Knights faction is set to dish out his brand of honor and valor, bringing along a few moves from his game… like a devastating catapult.

The staff at Ubisoft are thrilled to have For Honor represented in the game and For Honor game director Nicolas Bombray and Associate Art Director Andrew Im have a special message to everyone.

Check out some of the screenshots below:

For Honor’s The Warden will be released as a DLC Guest Character for Samurai Shodown this June 24, 2020.

The upcoming Square Enix title Marvel’s Avengers has been confirmed to be available for the next generation consoles when they launch in the Holiday of 2020.

According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, the current gen release is still scheduled for release on September 4 and players who purchase the current gen version of the game, whether physical or digital, will get a free next gen upgrade, carrying over save data and allowing for cross-gen play between PS4 and 5, as well as Xbox One and Series X.

For the PlayStation 5 version in particular, it was revealed that the game will have “lightning fast load speeds” that, when optimized, will allow for “loading content will be nearly instant, allowing players to seamlessly jump into missions anywhere in the game world.”

The game will also take advantage of the new features of the DualSense controllers as well as allow for a high frame rate mode that will target “60 FPS with dynamic 4K resolution.”

More information about the game will be revealed during a “War Table” stream scheduled on June 24 at 10AM Pacific, that’s June 25 1AM in the Philippines.

Apart from the September delay and the Special Editions of the game, the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers game has been pretty silent as of late. Until now.

The official Marvel’s Avengers Twitter account has announced that a special ‘War Table’ stream will be happening on June 24 which will show off new gameplay and co-op, a much needed information drop for the game.

Check out the announcement and short video below:

If you’ve somehow missed the reveal from last year, Marvel’s Avengers is a loot based title that draws similarities to previous titles like Destiny, with min-maxing gear and skills at its core. If this is something you can get down with, then Marvel’s Avengers is something you’ll want to look out for.

Marvel’s Avengers is currently scheduled to launch on September 4, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
