Hideo Kojima is reportedly in talks with Microsoft to publish his next game
After a hugely successful run with Sony for Death Stranding, it seems that Hideo Kojima may be in talks with Microsoft for his next game, if the reports prove to be true.
VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb, who has quite a reliable track record with insider information, has gone on to publish an article about how rumors and theories were speculating Abandoned, the newly announced PS5 exclusive horror title, was Kojima’s next game. Grubb says that this is not true because “Kojima is in talks with Microsoft about publishing his next game, according to a source familiar with the matter.”
Phil Spencer has been known to tease things from his shelf during interviews, and it seems that this one from back in March with a Ludens statue from Death Stranding may have been referencing to this possible Kojima deal. Grubb believes this is the case, saying “And yes, that statue on Phil Spencer’s shelf was referencing a potential deal with the legendary developer.”
Grubb does not know yet if the deal has been closed, but Microsoft is definitely centering their efforts at Japanese talent through Kojima.
True or not? We’ll have to wait and see but this is definitely exciting news!
