Hit crime drama Peaky Blinders will be getting a game, scheduled for release this Summer
As announced by IGN, the hit 2013 show Peaky Blinders will be getting a cross between a puzzle and an adventure game called Peaky Blinders: Mastermind set to release for the PC, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One in the Summer of 2020.
If you’ve watched the show, you might be envisioning a sort of Sleeping Dogs / Grand Theft Auto type of game that would have been absolutely perfect for Peaky Blinders. Instead, fans of the show will be getting a top down title that will put you in control of the 6 members of the Shelby Family at the same time.
Yup, simultaneously. Levels on the game will be set up on what they call an adjustable timeline that “can be rewound and replayed, allowing you to adjust the actions of each character to find solutions to obstacles, whether violent, stealthy, or both.”, as per IGN.

Imagine you’re pulling off a heist, with each character assigned to certain tasks. One person lockpicks the door so the other can enter undetected. All this is happening while the other members are ready to provide a front door distraction. Peaky Blinders: Mastermind essentially allows you to pull off this plan in the game, and you’ll need to use your wits and smarts to overcome all the challenges.
James Marsden, director of the game, explains the inspiration behind the direction Peaky Blinders: Mastermind in a gameplay video courtesy of IGN:
“There’s a point in the show where Tommy Shelby explains he has no concern for the past, nor the future; all he cares about is a crucial moment he calls the soldier’s minute. We designed our game around that idea, allowing the player to plan actions backward and forward in time, choreographing an ensemble cast of characters to synchronise their actions during these crucial moments. The player gets to feel like the smart and sophisticated leader that Tommy is, so we think becoming the mastermind will resonate with fans of the show and gamers alike.”
No price has been set for Peaky Blinders: Mastermind as of this writing.
