Halo Infinite release set for Fall 2021
After the unfortunate delay, 343 Studios have announced that Halo Infinite won’t be out until the Fall of 2021, nearly a year after it was initially slated to release as a launch title alongside the Xbox Series S and X.
This announcement comes by way of a lengthy blog post from the Halo Website, Creative Director Joseph States announces that “it’s my honor as creative director to help our team ship Halo Infinite in Fall 2021” and then goes on to outline multiple updates regarding the big killer game for the Xbox.
The campaign reveal last July was a big moment for the game, but was undermined by the seemingly low graphics quality that players have been expecting, especially for the return of the Chief. Niel Harrison, director of art management, says that “Much of the feedback we heard from the community aligned with our own views and work we were already committed to doing around things like indirect lighting, material response, foliage and tree rendering, clouds, level-of-detail transitions, and character fidelity.” Harrison even went on to say that Craig, the now infamous meme, is undergoing improvements.
It may have been quite the long wait for fans of the series, and it is definitely frustrating to have the game be delayed nearly one year after its initial launch date, but rest assured that 343 is working hard to bring the community the Halo game it deserves.
