Rumors point to another Uncharted title in the works from Sony’s ‘Secret’ San Diego Studio
While creeping on people’s social media profiles isn’t new, if you take a look at former Sony studio boss Michael Mumbauer’s Linkedin page, his latest achievement outlines something very interesting – “having built a brand new, all-star, AAA Action/Adventure development team for Playstation. Based in San Diego and utilizing proprietary engine technology, this team was assembled to expand upon existing franchises and craft all new stories for the next generation of gamers.”
There is speculation, and rumors have been rumbling for quite a while now, that there’s a new Uncharted on the horizon. Uncharted 5? A new title similar to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy? It’s all pretty exciting to think about.
One more curious detail buried in Mumbauer’s profile is the appearance of this video clip from 2018, which points to speculation about Uncharted 5. Coincidence? A clue or nothing at all? There’s no confirmation yet from any of the parties involved, but it is quite fun to get the rumor mill turning.
It’s been almost four years since the end of Uncharted: Lost Legacy and fans are probably looking for a follow up from Sony to grace the PS5. All we can really do is wait for confirmation and take this rumor with some salt.
In other news though, and being a Cowboy Bebop fan, it’s great to see it get some love from Neil Druckmann. It is number five in his wish list, and a collaboration between Shinichiro Watanabe and Naughty Dog would be what we need to keep the hope in this world alive.
